Kicking Off My New Blog

A little bit of background about me and why I wanted to start a book blog in my mid-thirties.

In 2014, when I finally got to visit Kings Cross station in London for this infamous Harry Potter shot.

Welcome to my book blog. Ever since I was a toddler, I had a book in my hands. Having a mother who was a teacher was a definite plus. I could read well before I started school. Thus began my love affair with all things books. I have fond memories of Scholastic book fairs and Pizza Hut Book-it read-a-thons.

Now, I'm approaching my mid-thirties and for my government job in Washington, D.C. I have to read non-fiction all day. So when I get home, my favorite way to unwind is with a good book. My favorite genres are young adult fiction and historical fiction.

I'm hoping that I'm not the only self-proclaimed "adult" who loves "young adult" fiction, ha, so I am creating a blog to talk about my favorite books and authors. So many times I've looked to other book bloggers for recommendations on what to read next. Now, I hope to return the favor.
